Do you want to get to know the development of high-voltage GaN products (like GaN based HEMTs) and even drive it yourself? Can you further on imagine to extend your activities to multicomponent products consisting e.g. of a switch and a driver IC? As a new team member, you will contribute in our product development projects across different sites. At the same time, you will be responsible for technical work packages, like designing and verifying your own products. This role will bring you in contact with diverse colleagues from all over the world and will give you the chance to share and discuss your ideas with different people.

Job description

In your new job you will:

  • Design & verify analog/mixed-signal circuits to support all phases of product development including concept, testing, application; focus will be on GaN-based ICs for power applications
  • Apply semiconductor physics knowledge to solve product issues and explore improvements for future product or technology releases
  • Actively contribute to the product innovation process with concepts, demonstrators and technical evaluation
  • Collaborate with concept, product definition, layout-, lab-, test- and quality engineers in development projects for the release of new products.
  • Collaborate with product marketing and application engineering to shape products for business success
  • Ensure the testability by design of new products and define their electrical verification from wafer level to final product, evaluate the results and discuss within an expert community
  • Support the qualification, failure analysis and troubleshooting activities through interpretation of electrical and physical analysis(e.g. SEM, X-ray, EMMI) during reliability tests
  • Be an active part of our technical community by contributing with your know-how to the knowledge pool but also benefiting from the network of experts for your own learning and growth

Profile

These qualifications help you master the job:

  • A university degree in electronics, microelectronics, physics or similar
  • 6 years of relevant work experience in the field of semiconductors (work experience or related Ph.D.) - it is important to have solid knowledge about semiconductor devices and power switches (device physics of silicon, SiC and GaN devices). The GaN HEMT know-how is a plus
  • Block level design IC experience (e.g. voltage regulators, gatedrivers, bandgap reference) and good understanding of analog/mixed signal design flow
  • Proven experience with industry standard analog/mixed EDA tools (e.g.Cadence, Synopsis)
  • First experience with power devices specifications and datasheets(including good knowledge about statistics)
  • Being familiar with the processes and structures of R&D projects
  • Proven capability of technical problem solving
  • Lab experience, ideally related to the characterization of semiconductor devices is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2022.pdf). A higher payment is negotiable depending on your expertise and skills.
