For more than 90 years, PALFINGER has set benchmarks with innovative crane and lifting solutions worldwide. As a leading technology and mechanical engineering company, we transform customer needs into seamlessly integrated solutions while providing opportunities for our people to grow, collaborate, and push beyond limits. We foster an environment where we reach up, reach out, and reach beyond. Become part of our team and let's lift each other to create what's next.

Teamlead Analytics Data Platform (f/m/d)

As Teamlead in our Data & Analytics department, you lead the team that builds and scales the central data platform powering analytics across the entire PALFINGER group. We are building this platform on Snowflake, so you join at a stage where you can actively help shape the target architecture, the technology choices, and the way your team works. Working with state-of-the-art cloud technology, you and your team turn a fragmented data landscape into a scalable, governed foundation that analytics use cases at PALFINGER will rely on. If you want to shape - not just operate - the data platform that becomes the backbone of a global technology company, this role is for you, and we are looking for you to strengthen our team in Bergheim (Salzburg).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop the Analytics Data Platform team, shaping its architecture and roadmap within the Process and Data Management organization and fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the design and scaling of our modern, cloud-based data platform on Snowflake - covering data ingestion, storage, transformation, and a governed semantic layer - and introduce cost-effective innovations such as real-time data processing.
  • Establish platform standards for data modeling, data quality, security, and governance (e.g., role-based access control, data cataloging), ensuring the platform is reliable, performant, and cost-efficient.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the platform together with your team - monitoring reliability and performance, keeping an eye on cost, and continuously improving stability and automation.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across the organization to align the platform with the overall strategy and enable self-service analytics and AI.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in computer science, information systems, or a comparable field - or equivalent practical experience -plus 5+ years in data engineering, data platforms, or analytics infrastructure.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience, with a proven track record in stakeholder management and delivery in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Hands-on expertise designing, building, and operating modern cloud data platforms or data warehouses, covering ingestion (ETL/ELT), transformation, and pipeline orchestration; experience with Snowflake and the wider ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse, Databricks) is a plus.
  • Strong data modeling and SQL skills plus at least one data engineering language (e.g., Python/PySpark, Spark), with a solid understanding of data governance, security, and platform standardization (role-based access control, data cataloging).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to align technical and business stakeholders around a common platform direction; fluency in English, German a plus. Familiarity with DevOps for data (CI/CD, Git, infrastructure-as-code) and agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban), plus a basic understanding of ERP data structures (ideally SAP).

WE OFFER

  • Flexible working hours with no core time and possibility to work from home
  • Further training and international career opportunities
  • Corporate health management "PALfit"
  • Company restaurant with freshly prepared meals and daily meal subsidy
  • Job ticket for travel to and from PALFINGER
