Your Role

• Automotive (ATV) shapes the future of mobility with micro-electronics enabling clean, safe and smart cars -
  Semiconductors are essential to realize key trends like eMobility, automated driving and secure, connected cars. The effect of high doses of ionizing radiation (X-Ray) on unbiased semiconductor transistors (MOSFETs) is today poorly researched. Measuring potential shifts in the parametric behavior of these devices and understanding the underlying physical mechanisms of any induced effects is key to fully characterizing the behavior silicon semiconductor chips.

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Experimental Design and Measurement: Design and execution of measurements of single semiconductor devices
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Data evaluation out of measurements as well as literature research and comparison
• Technical Reporting and Documentation: Alignment with service providers for experiments as well as analysis and documentation to write a master thesis

This thesis has to be written in cooperation with an university.

Type of employment: Temporary / Part-time or Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: min. 12 months

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

You successfully meet the requirements, if you are a motivated and committed student (f/m/div) from the field of Physics, Material Science, Electronics Engineering or similar. You are best equipped for this task if you additionally offer:

• Professional experience: A self-employed working style with deep interest in semiconductor physics, hands on experience in lab equipment and electrical measurement devices
• Technical skills: Basic skills in handling of electrical measurement devices, MS Office, profound understanding of semiconductor devices (especially MOSFETs)
• Organizational skills: Ability to clearly communicate complex aspects of material and data science in an international team, strong self-learning skills and a collaboratively and result focused working-style
• Language skills: Fluency in English language

This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group B for bachelor students, employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2025.pdf).
