We are looking to strengthen our team by recruiting a new: AI Research Engineer
The Job:
AI Research & Technology Evaluation
Evaluate AI technologies and trends (incl. Microsoft AI ecosystem)
Assess feasibility, risks, and business impact
Use Case Development
Work with internal and external stakeholders to define AI use cases
Prioritize based on impact and feasibility
Prototyping
Build and validate AI prototypes (PoCs) and document results
Experiment with models, prompts, and architectures
Collaboration & Enablement
Work closely with Engineering teams to support the transition from prototype to production
Support productization and act as internal & external AI advisor
The Profile:
We are looking for an AI Research Engineer to explore and shape the use of AI within the Therefore platform.
You will identify relevant AI technologies, turn them into practical use cases, and build early prototypes to demonstrate value. You will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and stakeholders to bring innovation into real applications.
The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking, curiosity, and hands-on technical skills. We welcome both experienced professionals and motivated junior candidates.
Skills & Qualifications
Background in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
Experience or strong interest in AI / Machine Learning
Experience with modern AI topics (e.g., LLMs, prompting, document processing/OCR)
Azure AI services and programming skills (e.g., C++, C#) are a plus
Mindset & Profile
Curious, analytical, and innovation-driven
Able to translate technical topics into practical use cases
Strong problem-solving and experimentation mindset

Salary
The minimum gross annual salary for this full-time position, based on the collective agreement and full alignment with the role profile, is EUR 45,738. Naturally, the final salary will be determined based on your qualifications and discussed individually.
