Location Salzburg

Global Category Manager (f/m/x) - Remote‑first

Tasks

• Develop and implement global category strategies aligned with business objectives
• Analyze spend, market trends, and supply risks on a global level
• Define and execute sourcing strategies (e.g. make-or-buy, single vs. multi-sourcing)
• Lead global supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management
• Drive cost savings, value creation, and total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements
• Collaborate with regional/local procurement teams to align global and local needs
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g. geopolitical, financial, capacity risks)
• Support innovation and sustainability initiatives with key suppliers
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
• Lead or contribute to global procurement projects and transformation initiatives
• Provide category insights and reporting to senior management and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel of approx. 10-20%

Your Profile

• University Degree in business or economics
• Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in international procurement (raw materials)
• Results-oriented with a strong ownership mindset
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
• Continuous improvement and learning mindset
• Strong skills in Excel, BI tools, and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
• Ability to lead global category initiatives without direct authority
• Excellent negotiation skills at senior level
• Experience with global sourcing and supplier consolidation
• Fluent spoken and written English skills (global working environment)

The minimum gross salary for this position is EUR 3.236,14 per month on a full-time basis. We offer a compensation package that significantly reflects your skills and experience.
