As a Senior Staff Product Application Engineer for Automotive Discrete Devices in our Customer Collaboration and Technical Marketing team, you work hand-in-hand with our customers, enabling them to transform our products into cutting-edge designs, all while building long-lasting partnerships that thrive on success. Your Role

In this job you will enhance your expertise by working hands-on with Infineon's advanced high-voltage automotive discrete power semiconductors, developing in-depth knowledge of next generation wide bandgap technologies including Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs and JFETs, alongside state-of-the-art Silicon Superjunction MOSFETs. You will apply these in key EV systems such as On-Board Chargers (OBC), DC/DC converters, e-fuses and battery disconnect units, working directly with customers. More concretely, you will:

  • Drive innovation by contributing to the development of next-generation automotive wide bandgap discrete 650 V & 750 V CoolSiC(tm) MOSFET solutions, helping pioneer technologies that will define the future of sustainable mobility
  • Serve as a key technical partner to customers providing expert guidance as a trusted advisor to enable successful design-ins and troubleshoot sophisticated technical issues
  • Oversee validation activities by leading product-to-system level testing; this includes designing and building hardware setups, executing tests, performing in-depth competitive benchmarking and conducting thorough analyses
  • Develop and deliver impactful technical marketing materials to support go-to-market (G2M) initiatives, such as application notes, white papers, evaluation board designs, while conducting technical trainings and workshops for global internal teams, field engineers and customers

Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Electronics
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the semiconductor industry and/or power electronics, ideally with exposure to automotive applications
  • Deep technical expertise in power semiconductor technologies, (Si, SiC, GaN devices and discrete power packages) and power conversion topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC applications, including bridge/bridgeless PFC, LLC, DAB, Buck, Boost, and other related topologies), with knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. Jedec, AEC-Q101)
  • Customer-centric approach with a genuine passion for working directly with customers including willingness to travel regularly, strong capability to understand needs, provide technical guidance, and effectively resolve complex application challenges
  • Hands-on experience in hardware design, development, and testing, including circuit simulation (SPICE), PCB layout (Altium or Cadence), prototyping, lab and real-world application testing
  • Excellent English communication skills with proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a global, matrixed organization plus the ability to explain complex technical ideas to a variety of audiences

We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/aktuelles/mindestloehne-und-gehaelter-eei/). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
