Your tasks and responsibilities:

• Develop and implement communication strategies tailored to diverse target audiences.
• Plan and execute communication activities around research outputs, events, and key milestones.
• Establish, evaluate, and continuously improve internal processes for science communication.
• Collaborate closely with researchers to understand scientific work and ensure accurate representation.
• Translate complex research into clear, engaging content for blogs, press releases, and social media, using state-of-the-art communication practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with science media, coordinating interviews and managing media requests.
• Monitor media trends and public discourse in relevant scientific areas, using insights to refine strategies and enhance impact.

Your strengths and skills:

• Academic degree or equivalent in (science) communications, journalism, media studies or related fields
• 5+ years experience in (research) communications, public outreach and media relations.
• Familiarity with academic, nonprofit, governmental, or industry research environments highly preferred
• Strong AI affinity and knowledge of CMS, social media and analytics
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills and awareness of inclusive communication.
• German and English skills on minimum level C1

Competitive compensation starting from EUR 50.000 yearly gross salary, with the possibility of overpayment based on qualifications and experience.
