Pharmaceutical Science Lead (w/m/d)

The "Pharm Sci Lead" is a key role within the PDT business unit as it sets CMC product development strategies to enable the execution of Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) activities throughout successful first submissions within a major market. PDT R&D focuses on developing therapies that will improve the health care out-comes of patients Takeda aims to serve. The Pharm Sci / CMC Lead will be accountable for:

Responsibilities :

  • Team leadership and contribution as a key member of various cross-functional teams
  • Execution of the CMC strategy and focus upon product development and commercial product support
  • Collaboration with Research Scientists in terms of technical activities
  • Central interface to other departments (e.g. Process and formulation development, Process Analytics, Analytical development, Manufacturing, Research, QA, QC, Engineering, Supply chain, Validation, Tech transfer, Regulatory functions, External partners and Authorities)
  • Development of required project resources, scale up activities and tracking processes
  • Support of technology transfer as well as providing support to manufacturing as needed
  • Contribution in the delivery of products for clinical studies and continuous supply of commercial product
  • Management of the enhancement regarding product and process knowledge, promotion of QbD best practices

Requirements :

  • University degree in Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines 5+ years experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is required
  • Leadership experience as Pharm Sci Lead or CMC Lead is beneficial
  • Proficient in process development and in implementation of process control strategies using QbD principles
  • Comfortable knowledge of plasma derived therapies fractionation processes and analytics is required
  • Experience with application of risk-based approaches in decision making processes
  • Technically skilled, mostly independent, diligent and proactive workstyle with a problem-solving focus
  • Ability to maintain a strong collaboration with CMC leadership and within multi-disciplinary teams
  • High level of customer orientation and excellent communication skills at all levels of hierarchy in german and english

The minimum salary for this position is EUR 4.439,01 gross per month (full-time); increased payment is possible. The contract will be limited for 1 year, an extension of the contract is possible.
