Manager (m/f/d) Data Innovation & Advanced Analytics

About the role

Location: Austria - Vienna
Hours: Full-Time
Type of Contract: Permanent

Make It Real!

At Borealis, we see data and AI as strategic business enablers--not technical add-ons. As we accelerate our transformation, we're looking for a business leader who can turn data-driven innovation into measurable performance impact.
This role sits within the PO business organisation and acts as a catalyst for rethinking how we plan, operate, and create value. You will partner across functions, challenge established ways of working, and scale advanced analytics and AI across the business in a responsible and sustainable way. Together with IT and Digital Solutions, you will ensure that every solution we deploy is secure, scalable, and fit for purpose.

As Manager of Data Innovation & Advanced Analytics, you will:

  • Lead business-owned data and AI initiatives that fundamentally enhance how we plan, produce, serve customers, and make decisions.
  • Identify high-value opportunities where analytics, automation, and AI can unlock step-change improvements in business performance.
  • Build analytics adoption and literacy across the organisation by making data-driven innovation understandable, practical, and actionable.
  • Establish a culture of experimentation, enabling teams to test, learn, and innovate safely and effectively.
  • Translate business needs into scalable solutions, working hand-in-hand with IT/Digital Solutions to ensure robust, secure, and compliant implementation.
  • Develop and lead a team of six, nurturing capabilities, strengthening collaboration, and building future-ready talent.

About you

You are a strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a track record of using data and analytics to drive tangible impact. You thrive in complex, cross-functional environments and bring the influencing skills needed to shape decisions from the shop floor to the executive table.
You value diversity, equity, and inclusion and actively foster an environment where people can contribute, grow, and succeed.

  • Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in data strategy, analytics, process innovation, or digital transformation -- with clear evidence of business impact.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with IT and technical teams to bring solutions to life in a secure, scalable, and compliant way.
  • Leadership experience in developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement.
