CONFIGURATION / DEPLOYMENT ENGINEER (F/M/X)

Thales in Austria is a full system provider and global supplier of train control technology and traffic management systems (f. ex. European Train Control System (ETCS), Electronic interlockings, Operation Control Centers and dispatching systems, Field elements). In this position you are responsible for software maintenance and development of the product build toolchain developed within our system engineering department. These tasks are embedded within the development of our new interlocking for our domestic customer.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Tailoring the Organization Configuration Management system and customer requirements for the project and transcribes them into a Configuration Management Plan, implements the provisions of the Configuration Management Plan and makes sure they are followed
• Participates in the selection of Configuration Items selected for configuration monitoring
• Participates in the phase reviews (PDR, CDR) and in configuration audits (FCA and PCA)
• Implementation of the Configuration Management system for the project/product
• Consistency of information in the configuration management system for the project / product
• Responsible for the establishment of reference baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL)

YOUR PROFILE

• Technical degree, preferable in Network Technology, Informatics, Electrical Engineering or similar
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Configuration Manager or similar
• Good knowledge in the following areas
• Networking, routing and switching
• Use of virtualization and containers (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Advanced knowledge in Linux/Unix scripting (Bash, Perl)
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python)
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. IBM Rational ClearCase, GIT)
• Accuracy, ability to assert yourself and perseverance
• Excellent English and good German skills

• The salary for this position starts at EUR 60.000 gross p.a. Actual compensation is based on experience and qualification.
