About you

You have several years of professional experience and would like to prove your expertise in the refractory industry? You can channel your creativity into solutions for ambitious technical challenges. You want to understand the complex structure of our products and you like to dive deep into the subject matter? With a certain resilience you pursue your technical ideas and are ready to challenge them in order to find the best results together with the team. Your way of working is characterized by accuracy, structuredness and perseverance. You are an open-minded individual who is willing to learn and enjoys working in a diverse team of highly skilled professionals.

You have:

  • Higher technical education (MSc or PhD in either physics, chemistry, mineralogy, material science, or similar course of studies)
  • Full proficiency in English and German, any additional language (esp. Portuguese, Chinese) will be considered an asset
  • Project management skills are beneficial
  • Understanding of business economics
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Willingness to travel (post-Covid) nationally & internationally to the extent of approx. 20%.

About the job

As a scientific employee in our research hub Leoben, you will be responsible for the development of various refractory products in the field of shaped basic refractories (Magnesite & Dolomite based).

Your tasks will include:

  • Initiation and management of research projects (product development and improvement) incl. project administration and cost tracking
  • Creation and adaptation of recipes and raw material characterizations incl. the necessary process parameters for production
  • Collaboration with Purchasing & Supply Chain Management as well as the production plants, Product Management and Technical Marketing
  • Troubleshooting of technical issues throughout the production process
  • Complaints processing

  • We offer you a full-time position (38.5 hours/week) at our site in Leoben, Styria. Your monthly gross salary starts at EUR 3,620 according to our collective bargaining agreement. Your actual remuneration depends on your educational background and your skills and experience.
