Category Leader (m/w/d)

LOCATION: Gunskirchen • START: IMMEDIATELY

Your new adventure

As the point of contact for our company in your product category, you will drive strategic sourcing and supplier development to ensure long-term competitiveness, cost efficiency, and innovation. You will develop and execute category strategies, establish strong supplier partnerships, and contribute to the achievement of our overall business goals.

Your responsibilities

• Achieve annual cost savings targets through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Define and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with company objectives and market trends.
• Build and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and innovation.
• Conduct strategic negotiations and manage supplier performance according to defined KPIs.
• Analyze markets and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present detailed performance reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive value creation, technology roadmaps, and category innovation.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for the assigned category.
• Coach and support buyers in negotiation and sourcing strategy execution.

Experiences and skills

• Completed degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in strategic procurement or category management, ideally in an international industrial or automotive environment.
• Proven track record in achieving cost savings and developing supplier partnerships.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP and data analysis tools.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.

You will be offered an exciting position in an international company with many interesting benefits and diverse development opportunities. The minimum salary for this position is EUR 64,829.96 gross/year in accordance with the collective agreement for the metal industry. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, we offer an attractive and performance-related salary with corresponding overpayment.
