For the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR), we are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher/Senior Researcher to work 20 to 30 hours per week within the context of the project “Externalisation and Rightlessness” (https://gmr.lbg.ac.at/externalization-and-rightlessness/?lang=en), funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). The role, to be filled as soon as possible, will be based in the institute’s Asylum and Migration programme line.

What you can contribute

  • Generate new insights into the structural and conceptual foundations of international refugee law
  • Research externalisation arrangements globally
  • Publish in leading journals and participate in scientific conferences
  • Draft proposals for future research projects
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of workshops and conferences for international experts

What you have to offer

  • Research experience and publications in international refugee law, in particular on the project focus of externalisation and rightlessness
  • The desire to learn, share insights, and cooperate
  • Excellent command of English; German is an asset
  • Completed PhD degree

Salary

The advertised position has a fixed term that ends on November 30, 2028. The envisaged gross monthly salary is EUR 4,962 (full-time/all-in).
