Branch Finance Controller - Austria

Immediately available full-time position(38.5h/week) based in Vienna

Purpose To provide independent control and monitoring of branch financial accounting and ensure compliances at branch.

Broad Responsibilities:

• Responsible for branch finance and accounts function.
• Build and maintain relationship with the banks and liaison with the same as per the business requirement.
• Ensure legal & SOP compliances.
• Provide necessary reports to the management on periodic basis (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually).

Key Challenges:

• Ability to assess risk in trade transactions.
• Attention to each aspect of the transaction in detail.
• Ability to support the business in trade deals.

Branch Finance & Accounts

• Preparation of financial reports
• Analyzing financial data
• Branch financial position paper
• Overseeing and preparing income statements
• Streamlining accounting functions and operations
• Evaluating and managing risk
• Review of sales contracts and documentation process
• Monthly payroll processing
• Monthly visit to warehouse and stock signs off
• Review bank statements on a weekly basis, perform bank reconciliations, liaising with the team to confirm details of payments/cash received, against back-up documentation. Record and report any irregularities, unexplained transactions to the management.
• Confirmation of balances, review of accruals/provision accounts monthly.
• Monthly review of branch staff expense claims and authorization (cash, expenses, and expense advances), recording any instances of non- compliance to expense guidelines and escalating to the management.

Banking

• Negotiating lines of credit with the banks.
• Interacting with the banks for performing banking transactions, trade finance activities.

Legal & SOP Compliances

• Compliance to the statutory local requirements
• Compliance to the companys SOPs
• Audit report follow-ups, chasing outstanding actions and to assist in closing points by the required deadline, developing additional policies and processes to further enhance the control environment.
• Compliance to monthly submission of reports, payment etc.

Financial Planning & MIS

• Financial reporting includes preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, budgets, budget-to-actuals, and financial projections.
• Submission of necessary and periodic reports as advised by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Qualified Chartered Accountant CA/CFA/CPA.
• At least 5-6 years of accounting, finance, and banking experience.
• Understanding of trade finance and trade documentation.
• Prefer to have a good knowledge of ERP system like SAP, CTRM etc.
• Strong commercial sense, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and strong grasping power.
• Have understanding of both German and English language.
