Materials & Process Engineer f/m/d
in Space Industry

Your mission: At our site in Vienna you will play a crucial role in the development of space hardware as you accompany our electronic products from the design phase into flight module production. You serve as an interface to our local engineering and quality teams as well as global team members always with an eye for process harmonization across the different manufacturing sides and design-to-cost. You drive the industrialization of our products and shape the manufacturing technology roadmap.

Your responsibilities in this exciting position:

  • Support projects in selection and verification of materials & processes relevant for space hardware
  • Lead assembly and process verifications and ensure that these meet customer, mission, and product requirements
  • Represent the company in M&P control boards, negotiations and reviews with customers, supplier and subcontractor
  • Assist product assurance in non-conformity management
  • Strengthen global harmonization regarding material, processes and qualification strategies
  • Drive and define the technology roadmap, establish new manufacturing processes
  • Scout for new technologies and partnerships, select reliable supplier and manage subcontractor
  • Drive design-to-cost activities with design engineering, subcontractors and suppliers to aim for cost-efficient but high performance & high quality solutions
  • Optimize MAIT flows, conduct VSM and drive continuous process improvements

Your horizon

  • Master's degree in materials science, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, production engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years' experience in an equivalent field
  • Strong analytical and pro-active solution finding mentality, systematic and independent way of working
  • High commitment and initiative; business thinking
  • Ability and flexibility in leading technical as well as managerial tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of industry and space relevant standards such as ECSS, MIL-SPEC, IPC
  • Fluent in English, nice to have: German
