Erste Asset Management coordinates and is responsible for all asset management activities of Erste Group and is in charge of assets amounting to more than EUR 102 billion. More than 500 employees develop and manage investment solutions for our investors in 7 different countries. We launched the first environmental fund in Austria more than 25 years ago - at a time when the topic was still a niche. Today, we manage more than EUR 35 billion in sustainability (as of 31.10.2025) and place sustainability at the heart of our business activities.

Within the Risk Management division, the ESG Risk & Development Desk plays a central role in ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements for more than 350 funds and over 5,000 portfolios. The desk combines regulatory expertise, quantitative risk analysis and technical implementation. We design, develop and operate key risk controls, screening processes and analytical tools, and support the integration of ESG‑specific regulatory requirements into our risk methodologies. Our responsibility is to identify risks early and safeguard investor interests.

To strengthen our Vienna‑based team, we are looking for a Quant Risk Specialist who is eager to contribute to the optimisation, automation and further development of our quantitative risk processes. Your Tasks

  • analysing, validating and preparing data to ensure reliable, high quality quantitative outputs for risk analyses and reporting
  • contributing to the enhancement of risk applications and supporting the implementation of new analytical ideas and concepts
  • supporting the ESG Risk & Development Desk in embedding sustainability related risk aspects into quantitative processes (e.g. ESG screening methodologies, sustainability disclosures or climate related risk considerations)
  • collaborating closely with colleagues in Vienna and Budapest

Knowledge of ESG concepts, sustainability regulation or ESG data is considered a strong advantage and will enable you to contribute directly to the desk's growing ESG‑related activities.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Economics or similar)
  • At lest 2-3 years of experience in risk management, fund management or another quantitative/analytical role, ideally with exposure to data driven or automated processes
  • Good knowledge of Python and SQL for automation, data processing and quantitative tasks
  • Knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualisation tools is an advantage (e.g. building dashboards, preparing analytical overviews or supporting reporting workflows)
  • Experience with risk metrics, quantitative analyses or performance analytics
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and a structured, detail oriented working approach
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross location team
  • Bonus: Understanding of ESG frameworks or sustainability regulation or ESG related data

Our Offer

  • a diversified job in a professional and dynamic team
  • development of a comprehensive understanding of investment funds and financial products
  • professional and personal development (incl. detailed introduction)
  • flexible working hours
  • home office by arrangement
  • a modern workplace at the Erste Campus
  • discover the benefits of Erste Asset Management
  • up to 5 days off for learning per year for your additional relevant trainings and further education
  • We offer our employees the opportunity to divide their hours between working from home and at the office.
  • The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 49.772,80 gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
