About the role

Location: Austria - Linz
Hours: Full-Time
Type of Contract: Permanent

Make Film Testing Real!

We are currently looking for an Engineer (m/f/d) in the Application Testing Department, where you play a key role in developing new products and innovative solutions driving forward Borealis' agenda on numerous applications.

In this role, you will:

  • design, develop and verify methods to measure key properties of films and fiber
  • be responsible for multiple established test equipment and methods, including one method within the lab accreditation frame
  • have a major input on the design of methods and investment in test instrumentation
  • ensure high scientific standards in research, technology and application development in line with our innovation objectives in the area of advanced analytical characterization
  • deliver scientific results by applying scientific principles, combining academic knowledge, experimental results and common experiences
  • share your knowledge and experience with engineers and scientists and coach them
  • be member in project teams with your own area of responsibility
  • be active in external cooperations with institutes and universities
  • plan technical aspects of R&D tasks and be responsible for execution of project tasks and implementation

About you

  • You hold a Master Degree in Polmer Science & Engineering or you have a Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience as an engineer or researcher in the field of Polmer Science & Engineering is an asset
  • You are fluent in our company language English, German is beneficial
  • You have sound knowledge of handling laboratory test equipment
  • You like to work in a team, but also can handle challenges on your own
  • You prefer a structured approach, applying in quality management principles
  • You have dealt frequently with standards and regulations
  • You enjoy expanding your knowledge and bringing in new ideas, approaches or methods
  • Your way of thinking is highly structured and analytical but also flexible when it comes to collaboration in projects or challenges in your daily work

Following Austrian law regulations, we offer, reflecting your experiences, skills and competencies, competitive compensation based on the collective labour agreement chemical industry starting at EUR 60.212,18 annual gross salary (based on 38 hrs/week) and are willing to pay more based on your experience and background. In addition, we offer a yearly bonus and a voluntary company pension plan.
