We are looking for a Technical Assistant (f/m/d) with a strong background in molecular biology. This is a technically broad and demanding role: you will work across cell culture, CRISPR screens, molecular cloning, and NGS library preparation - all in the context of cutting-edge pediatric cancer research using patient-derived samples. If you thrive in a well-equipped lab, enjoy learning new techniques, and want your work to contribute directly to cancer research, this position is for you.
Your responsibilities
Perform and maintain cell culture work (including patient-derived cell lines and iPSCs)
Conduct CRISPR screens and CRISPR editing
Plasmid cloning and lentiviral plasmid packaging
Generate NGS libraries from patient samples (bulk and single-cell-seq)
Ensure accurate documentation of experiments and contribute to structured lab organization and workflow optimization
Your profile
What you bring for this position:
MSc or PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field (completed or close to completion)
Proven experience in mammalian cell culture
Experience with CRISPR/CRISPRi/a and/or NGS library preparation is a strong advantage
Previous experience in a research laboratory (e.g. research assistant, lab technician) is beneficial
Structured, proactive working style with strong organizational skills
High level of reliability and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken); German is not required
Our offer
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Benefit from access to infrastructure that supports your research and daily work
Translational Research: Work directly with patient-derived tumor samples and in vitro models in a group that bridges wet-lab and computational science
Inclusive & Purpose-Driven: Be part of an international workplace with a meaningful mission
