Senior Manager Energy in Innsbruck (m/w/d)
IHRE TÄTIGKEITEN:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement growth strategies for the energy consulting practice, aligning with the Management Consulting Unit focus and ILF's international objectives. Operate as a profit centre, contributing to international growth and departmental success.
- Strategic Business Development: Drive business development independently by identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the energy sector, with a strong emphasis on energy transition / decarbonization and energy efficiency.
- Mandate Ownership & Execution: Lead the acquisition and delivery of consulting and advisory mandates across the full project lifecycle. Ensure strategic alignment with internal subject matter expertise (department and company) and maintain a high standard of quality assurance and client engagement throughout execution.
- Project Oversight & Delegation: Manage complex energy projects including market analysis, energy mix optimisation (generation, transmission, distribution, storage), and transition strategies aligned with global decarbonisation goals. Delegate effectively to a dedicated team while collaborating across the wider department; collaborate with strategic partners and external subject matter experts, if and as required.
- Analytical Leadership: Guide and structure advanced quantitative and qualitative analyses for market insight and sector intelligence for impact.
- Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and expand client relationships through personal networks and strategic engagement. Support junior team members in client interaction and account development.
- Service Innovation: Lead the evolution of internal toolbox, methodologies, and digital frameworks to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Ensure consistent alignment across all team levels.
- Thought Leadership & Visibility: Represent the firm externally by participating in industry conferences as a speaker or panelist to strengthen visibility and network reach; publishing white papers and articles.
- Organisational and Team Development: Grow an effective consulting team along set focus areas and with new mandates. Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. Coach senior consultants and consultants to build their consulting capabilities and ensure effective knowledge transfer across the team.
- Internal Excellence: Contribute to internal initiatives aimed at refining consulting approaches, methodologies, and best practices to drive innovation, efficiency, and impact.
IHR PROFIL:
- Educational Background: MSc or equivalent degree in engineering, economics/finance, management or a related field. Ideally you have a mixed degree and understand both worlds. Additional qualifications, such as an MBA or PhD of renown institutions are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering, energy consulting, investment advisory, or management consulting with a focus on energy sector.
- Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage and steer consulting mandates in national (European) and international context, with a strong track record of leading complex projects and guiding teams in an advisory role.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and investment strategies in the energy sector, with a keen ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Network & Relationships: Well-established reputation and own professional network in the energy sector, with the capability to leverage relationships for business growth.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical abilities with a solution-oriented mindset. Advanced skill set with data analytics and AI are a must.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English; additional language skills are advantageous, e.g. Russian, French, Spanish, Arabic.
- Flexibility & Mobility: Willingness to travel internationally as required by consulting mandates; no long term secondment required.
