The position
We are looking for an Insights and Forecasting Manager to join the team based in Vienna. In this role, you will act as the business custodian of primary market research (PMR) project management and forecasting, addressing key business questions and delivering strategic and tactical insights. You will collaborate with EUCAN, Emerging Markets (EM) and local business partners to support decision-making and drive commercial success across the regions.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Select appropriate PMR tools and data sources - Address key business questions by choosing the most suitable Primary Market Research (PMR) methodologies and data sources, developing PMR plans that align with brand strategies and are tailored to the needs of regional and local teams, while delivering critical insights that enable data-driven decision-making.
- PMR projects management - Oversee PMR projects to ensure alignment with global, regional and country stakeholders, managing all aspects of project planning including budgeting, preparation, approvals, vendor coordination and timely delivery of results, and provide actionable insights through reporting.
- Lead the forecasting process during planning cycles - Manage forecasting activities by evaluating, consolidating and analyzing patient-based and trend-based forecasts submitted by country teams and delivering ad-hoc analyses, benchmarking and customized forecast models to address business needs.
- Act as a subject matter expert in PMR and forecasting - Serve as a trusted advisor by offering guidance on best practices and driving continuous improvement in research and forecasting processes, ensuring enhanced quality of insights and efficiency across the organization.
- Share expertise and build organizational capabilities - Promote knowledge sharing and capability development by disseminating expertise in PMR and forecasting throughout the organization, empowering teams to make informed strategic decisions based on robust data and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Economics, Life Sciences or Health Sciences (e.g. Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology) with at least 7 years of professional experience and 3-5 years in Market Research within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry.
- Strong expertise in qualitative and quantitative market research tools, data collection and analysis, as well as forecasting methodologies (e.g. patient-based and trend-based forecasting).
- Additional experience in Business Analysis or related areas within the Pharmaceutical industry is considered as an advantage.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify business issues, frame questions, contextualize answers and quantify market events and decisions.
- Proven project and budget management skills, strong prioritization, stakeholder management abilities, as well as outstanding communication skills; fluency in English is required, while German or other languages are a plus.

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is EUR 78.120 per year (full-time) according to the classification in the collective bargaining agreement for the chemical industry. Depending on professional experience and qualifications, we offer an overpayment.
