Our unit Payments Services and Clearing is the Group Central Hub responsible for clearing and settlement of payments providing the national and international reach to Erste Group members, savings banks, foreign subsidiaries.We manage the network relationship with clearing houses and are responsible to steer all payments and settlement relevant operations at Erste Group. Our unit develops the Group payments strategy toward digitalization in cooperation with business stakeholders, compliance, and IT. We represent Erste Group in national and international bodies and participate in industry working groups. Our unit also acts as the regulatory SPOC for payments towards all internal departments across Erste Group, the supervisor, and auditors.

Your Tasks

• Assist internal clients of the Holding, CEE banks and correspondent banks to conduct payments through Erste Group Bank.
• Co-ordinate processing of payments with internal and external service providers, correspondent banks and clearing houses.
• Assist carrying out payment investigations initiated by clients and correspondent banks; take care about complex inquiries, provide payment advice to clients via their account managers and service providers.
• Support AML, fraud management and compliance in investigating individual cases and improving payment standards of Erste Group.
• Maintain the set up in the systems referring standard and individual conditions, rooting tables, charging, standard settlement instructions.
• Create various payment and investigation related statistics, invoices and reports and provide them to internal departments, other banks of Erste Group and the regulators.
• Contribute to the digitalization strategy for payments processes by providing input to digital payments initiatives.
• Regularly train shared service centers to improve security and compliance standards of payments. Ensure effective training on the job (processes, systems, working instructions etc) of new or junior employees and coach them accordingly.
• Identify critical issues in daily operations and define improvement measures; escalate critical issues to Head of Payments and Clearing

Your Background

• At least three years of professional experience in payment services
• Preferable university degree (BA or MA) in Economics, Finance, Technology or Science (university or "Fachhochschule").
• Knowledge about market standards, developments in regulations & digital technologies and their implications for banking and payments.
• Knowledge and understanding of banking services, products, and processes with the focus on payments.
• Understanding that timing and delivery are essential to create best possible service for the customer.
• A good team player and ability to collaborate effectively with team, service providers and key stakeholders.
• Fluent in German, English. CEE language(s) of benefit

• The minimum wage for this full-time position in accordance with the collective agreement with complete fulfillment of the functional profile is EUR 43.554,-- gross per year. But this is just a formality - we would be happy to talk about your actual salary in person!
