Job Description

As an Optics Design Engineer, you will contribute to the theoretical and simulation backbone of our electron-optical systems and help enable the highest writing performance of our MBMW technology. Working closely with interdisciplinary experts, you will analyze complex physical effects, optimize electron-optical components and turn scientific understanding into real technological impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate and optimize electron-optical components in different simulation environments
  • Analyze parasitic effects and develop sustainable mitigation strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives from a technical perspective
  • Contribute to the theoretical understanding of highly sophisticated optical systems
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams across Engineering, System Validation, Application & Testing and Mechanical Design
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with deep technical expertise
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of simulation methods, models and engineering approaches

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Engineering of a related technical field
  • or MSc in Physics, Engineering of a related technical field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven record of analytical problem solving and a structured and scientific mindset
  • Hands-on experience in scientific computing with Python
  • Solid understanding of optics, charged particle physics or related physical domains
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or other high-tech industries is a plus
  • Experience with finite element simulations and/or with particle simulation mit GEANT4 is a plus
  • Technical project management experience is considered an advantage
  • Very good English skills and the ability to collaborate in international, interdisciplinary teams

With us you will receive an attractive annual gross salary from 63.000 EUR (plus bonus, KV Metallgewerbe). Depending on your experience, this can also be higher.
