The Grebien Group at the St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute (St. Anna CCRI) is seeking a Technical Assistant to support research projects aimed at uncovering the molecular mechanisms that drive pediatric leukemia. In this responsible and impactful role, you will join a multidisciplinary center of excellence in pediatric cancer research and contribute directly to advancing our understanding of how childhood leukemias develop and how they can be effectively targeted. You will participate in diverse laboratory activities and gain expertise in cutting-edge technologies, including genome engineering, functional genomics screens, and leukemia biology.

Your responsibilities

  • Become a core member of our team, supporting and enabling ongoing research projects
  • Perform molecular work, including advanced CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome engineering, biochemical assays and next-generation sequencing-related protocols
  • Perform advanced cell biological work, including functional genomics screens in cell lines, lenti- and retroviral gene delivery, flow cytometry and imaging
  • Be responsible for purchasing and storing research materials, and maintaining an inventory to ensure reproducible science
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and good laboratory practice

Your profile

What you bring for this position:

  • Degree in life sciences (BSc, MSc, Mag., DI)
  • Excellent technical skills in molecular and cellular biology, including proficiency in molecular cloning, cell culture, virus-based molecular techniques, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence imaging
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required)
  • Exceptional organization skills, ability to problem solve, work independently and communicate clearly are essential
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive "getting things done'' mentality

A fair and attractive salary package starting at EUR 3.240,-- gross (14x per year) on full-time basis with a view to increase based on your qualification and experience.
