Python Developer with Engineering/Physical Background (m/f/d)

The multi-beam mask writer developed by IMS requires highly optimized software that calculates large quantities of data to achieve the required precision in lithography. After an extensive introduction you will be developing software modules in collaboration with other team members. We have an extensive know-how in simulating and analyzing the physical effects of the calculated data and improving the calculations to push the results towards the physical limits. Your contribution will continuously extend this know-how and help to enable future nodes.

Your Responsibilities:

• Development and optimization of algorithms for the continuous improvement of the multi-beam mask writer developed by IMS and their integration in the existing software architecture
• Development and definition of specifications and requirements according to customer needs in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Ensuring the implementation of features and projects is done on time and meets specifications and requirements
• Physics-based modeling and simulation of the datapath of the multi-beam mask writer
• Optimization of algorithms and parameters based on simulations to ensure the continuous improvement of current tool generations
• Research and development of new approaches to secure technology leadership for future tool generations

Your Qualification:

• Master/PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar STEM field, and/or appropriate professional experience
• Profound knowledge of Object-Oriented Python
• Familiarity with methods of modeling and simulation of physical systems
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Team player with the ability to drive projects independently and strong organizational skills
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Experience in the following areas is of additional advantage: Development in a Linux environment, Python libraries and frameworks like numpy, scipy, pytest, plotly, pandas, matplotlib, etc., Team programming tools like version control, code review and bug-tracker, Optimization techniques and statistical methods
