Data Platform Administrator (f/m/d)

with relevant work experience

We are a small Data Science team in the Data Intelligence department which also includes Data Warehouse, Games Analytics and Operational Reporting teams. Our focus is on providing real-time data and data science projects. We are currently migrating our technology stack to Azure cloud and are looking for an additional administrator to take the lead on administrative duties while also performing some data engineering tasks.

YOUR TASKS

• Administer and manage our data platform ensuring high availability, performance, and security in Azure cloud.
• Maintain the usage of Azure in accordance with best practices and implementing cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in after-hours on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
• Become the lead administrator in Data Science team using Cloudera Apache open-source stack in Azure and participate in future decisions whether to change to more Azure native tools in the longer term.
• Plan and execute any updates or upgrades.
• In addition to Azure administrative tasks, also devote some time to Data Engineering tasks.
• In time, support Data Warehouse team during migration from on-premise to Azure cloud.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics or similar.
• 3-5 years of experience as Azure cloud administrator (or similar cloud experience).
• Knowledge of provisioning of virtual machines and related resources such as disks and vnets, user administration and RBAC, resource monitoring (usage/performance).
• Experience with big data and event streaming maintenance.
• Knowledge of modern data architectures (data lake, data mesh, etc.).
• Experience with Cloudera Apache stack is a plus.
• Experience with data warehouses in Azure cloud is a plus.
• Experience in database administration, preferably covering SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team in hybrid (office/remote) environments.
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English.
