PostDoc (f/m/d) - Molecular Biology

To strengthen our excellent research team, which is focused on the development and research of innovative approaches for the treatment of childhood cancer, we are looking for a PostDoc (f/m/d) - Molecular Biology. In this responsible role, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary competence center for pediatric oncology and to have a direct influence on the development of new cancer therapies.

The Lion Group (Lion Group - St. Anna CCRI) seeks to recruit a post-doctoral fellow.

Your responsibilities

  • You will embark on and lead an ongoing project related to resistance mechanisms and differential downstream signaling in Ph-positive leukemias, and will be able to develop your own ideas, concepts and approaches within and around the main topic.
  • You will join an exciting, multi-disciplinary environment with lots of support for your personal and professional development from your supervisor, team, and peers
  • You will contribute from the start including planning of experiments and data acquisition
  • You will provide thorough and creative thinking that will make this project a success
  • You will monitor the literature and community resources to keep abreast with the latest developments and will identify information, data, and methods to integrate in your own work
  • You will write papers and present your research at scientific meetings

Your profile

  • PhD degree in life sciences or molecular biology
  • Great interest in cancer/leukemia research with several years of laboratory experience, and proficiency particularly in cell culture, Western blot and FISH analysis, as well as genome editing
  • High accuracy, reliability, precision under time pressure, and organizational skills related particularly to project management
  • Motivation and commitment to pursue an ambitious research agenda, proactive mind-set, getting-things-done attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (German not required)
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn
  • Commitment, creativity, and team player spirit
  • Scientific mindset, problem solving attitude and ability to perform independent work
  • First author on at least one paper in a peer reviewed journal
