Secondly, the new role ensures sustainable product quality and integrity by optimizing existing product concepts alongside with required tools/methods/development environments, maintaining technical product documentation and design histories, investigating the impact of supplier change and end-of-life notifications on existing products, and by properly managing internal engineering workflows.

What is the true purpose of the role? What are opportunities and potential next steps?
