Blue Planet Ecosystems is a fast-growing startup focused on developing cutting-edge aquaculture systems that prioritizes sustainability and animal welfare. We are seeking a Firmware Developer to join our team and help us revolutionize the industry.

Firmware Developer (m/w/d)

Green Tech Startup in Vienna, Full-time (38.5h/week), on-site

As a Firmware Developer at Blue Planet Ecosystems, you will work closely with our hardware and software teams to design, develop and test firmware for our aquaculture systems. You will be responsible for creating reliable, efficient and high-quality code to support our product development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test firmware for Blue Planet Ecosystems aquaculture systems
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure firmware compatibility with hardware and software designs
  • Set up automatic system deployment pipelines
  • Document your work for internal and external purposes

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience designing and developing firmware in C or C++
  • Experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, QNX or VxWorks
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus or others
  • Experience with hardware interfaces and signal processing using SPI, UART, I2C, GPIO, PWM, DMA
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms: ATmega, ESP, STM, PIC
  • Experience conducting unit and integration testing
  • Experience in any of the following topics are not strictly necessary but would be a very valuable asset to the team: Rust, Linux, PCB design, PLC, encryption in embedded systems, use of advanced embedded debugging techniques, experience working in an industrial environment

  • The minimum collective agreement (KV) salary for this position is EUR 38.513,72.
  • We offer a highly competitive salary package that exceeds the minimum collective agreement salary. Our minimum gross annual salary for this position is EUR 56.000, with opportunities for market-compliant overpayment based on qualifications and experience
