The European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research, a UN-affiliated intergovernmental organisation in Vienna, is searching for you as a team member providing support in linguistic editing, desktop publishing and administrative tasks. As publications officer you will require organisational skills, you should value diversity in people and tasks, and you should be interested to work in an international research organisation.

Publications Officer

Location: Vienna, Austria

Application deadline: 18 April 2024

Responsibilities include:

  • Quality assurance of online and print products
  • Linguistic editing and proofreading (English and German) of scientific articles, reports, policy briefs, website content etc.
  • Support in desktop publishing and social media content
  • Preparation of internal working processes and follow-up on administrative arrangements and event organisation (meetings, conferences)
  • General administrative support including support of staff in acquiring national and international research and policy advice projects

Candidate profile:

  • Your expertise in linguistic editing has been proven (English and German, other languages are an asset)
  • Your written and spoken English is excellent (native or C2 level), you are fluent in German, proficiency in additional languages is beneficial
  • You dispose of excellent computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office
  • You have working knowledge of Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator) and/or other graphic design tools
  • You have brilliant organisational skills, attention to details and good communication skills
  • You have a critical eye regarding the accuracy of documents and data
  • You are a service-oriented personality with an ability to process confidential data, and you are comfortable working alone as well as part of a team.

Job offer:

The annual gross payment offered is EUR 23,660 (20 working hours), commensurate with qualifications and experience.
