Purpose of the Function

The Enterprise Data & AI Architect plays a central role in shaping UNIQA's journey towards becoming a data- and AI-driven company. This function defines and governs the data and AI target architecture, ensuring that the organization can efficiently turn data into business insights, automation, and intelligent services.

What to expect:

  • Strategy & Vision: Define and evolve UNIQA's Data & AI target architecture, covering data ingestion, transformation, governance, MLOps, and monitoring.
  • Architecture Design & Governance: Establish standards and lifecycle processes for data and AI models, ensuring reusability, compliance, traceability, and ethical AI use.
  • Enterprise Architecture Management: Maintain data and AI domains within LeanIX, ensuring integration across EA domains. Define data and service communication patterns supporting AI and automation use cases. 
  • Technology Leadership: Lead RFI/RFP processes for data, AI, and MLOps tool selection. Develop reusable building blocks for data and AI workloads that promote scalability, cost efficiency, and compliance. 
  • Strategic Planning & Advisory: Support AI roadmapping and platform evolution; advise architects and data scientists on AI-enabled solution design. Foster the transition from batch to streaming and real-time analytics as the foundation for AI-driven decisions. Contribute to the strategic plan for optimizing UNIQA's application, data, and AI landscape. 
  • Culture & Compliance: Promote data & AI architecture culture across business and IT. Ensure compliance with data governance, ethics, and regulatory requirements for AI and data use. 

What we expect:

  • Advanced analytics, ML, AI (including Generative & Agentic AI)
  • GenAI / Agentic AI frameworks as Microsoft Agent Framework or LangChain / LangGraph 
  • Modern data architecture (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, event-driven design, knowledge graphs)
  • Data modeling, semantic layers, metadata management
  • Cloud and hybrid data infrastructures, with hands-on experience in at least one hyperscale (Azure preferred). 
  • Modern data concepts such as data mesh, Lakehouse, event-driven design, and knowledge graphs.
  • Business value-driven mindset: connecting AI and data capabilities to measurable business impact. 
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to bridge business, data science, and IT architecture worlds. 
  • Fluent English (German a plus)
