Job Description

  • Design and development of process plant components, vessels, tanks, equipment and custom-engineered solutions for international plant engineering projects
  • Creation of 3D models, manufacturing and assembly drawings, as well as technical documentation using modern CAD systems
  • Translation of customer and process requirements into practical and efficient mechanical design solutions
  • Preparation of technical specifications and continuous development of engineering and design standards
  • Modification and optimisation of existing designs, as well as participation in the development of proprietary equipment and special engineering solutions
  • Close collaboration with process engineering, project management, suppliers and external manufacturing partners
  • Support during technical inspections, quality audits, installation activities and acceptance tests to ensure successful project execution
  • Participation in international plant engineering projects from concept development and detailed design through to commissioning
  • Independent execution of design tasks within a dynamic project environment with evolving technical requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Completed technical education (technical college, university of applied sciences or university degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline
  • Professional experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within plant engineering, equipment design, machinery engineering or the process industry, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food or related process sectors
  • Solid experience with 3D CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX or comparable design software
  • Experience in creating technical drawings, bills of materials, specifications and supporting engineering documentation
  • Understanding of equipment design, welded structures and complex mechanical assemblies
  • Strong initiative and a hands-on approach to solving technical challenges independently and pragmatically
  • Resilience and flexibility when dealing with changing project requirements and design modifications
  • Business fluent English skills, both written and spoken
  • German language skills are considered an advantage
  • Structured, solution-oriented and self-reliant working style
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel within Europe for supplier inspections, site visits and commissioning activities
