To support future growth, the company is building a new Advanced Technologies Centre of Excellence focused on emerging technologies, innovation projects and future product platforms. Unlike traditional product development organisations, this team focuses on exploring future technologies, creating demonstrators and evaluating new applications before transferring successful concepts into global product development organisations.

The position can be based in the Zwettl region or Vienna, Austria, with regular interaction across international engineering teams, customers, research institutes and universities.

Job Description

• Lead advanced technology and innovation projects in the field of industrial automation and electrification
• Identify future industry trends and evaluate their potential for new products and business opportunities
• Develop innovative electromechanical concepts, prototypes and technology demonstrators
• Create and validate solutions around relays, contactors, circuit breakers and future switching technologies
• Translate emerging technologies into practical engineering concepts and applications
• Collaborate with customers, engineering teams, research institutes and universities
• Drive technical discussions around future system architectures and industry requirements
• Support patent generation, technical publications and technology roadmaps
• Present innovative concepts and demonstrators to senior engineering and technology stakeholders
• Transfer validated technologies into product development organisations for industrialisation

The Successful Applicant

• 10+ years of experience in product development and technical project leadership
• Strong mechanical engineering background
• Experience with electromechanical products and systems
• Experience with relays, contactors, circuit breakers, switchgear or comparable switching devices
• Experience developing complex products from concept through testing and validation
• Proven experience leading complex engineering projects
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
• Experience with stamping, injection moulding or similar manufacturing processes
• Experience with Creo or another parametric 3D CAD system
• Strong communication skills and customer-facing attitude
• Ability to work independently in an innovation-driven environment
• Fluent English
• German is considered an advantage
• Experience with contact physics, arc behaviour, contact materials or switching technologies is advantageous
• Experience within industrial automation, power distribution or connector technologies is beneficial
• Patent applications, granted patents or other innovation achievements are highly valued
• Technical publications, conference presentations or research activities are considered a plus
• Experience collaborating with universities, research institutes or industry organisations is desirable
