RailNetEurope (RNE) is an association of European Infrastructure Managers (IMs) and Allocation Bodies (Abs) headquartered in Vienna. With around 80 international employees, we actively shape the future of European rail transport. Through innovative processes and IT solutions, we drive the digitalization and efficiency of European capacity management in view of the upcoming requirements from EU legislation.
We are looking for a Business Analyst with a strong technical mindset to design and shape digital solutions for European rail capacity management. You will work at the intersection of business processes, software architecture, and system integrations, translating complex business needs into clear functional requirements and technically feasible solutions while collaborating closely with architects, developers, testers, and stakeholders.
YOUR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, workflows, and user needs.
- Translate business requirements into user stories and functional specifications.
- Analyse processes and identify opportunities for workflow and system improvements.
- Collaborate with business, development, testing, and design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with technical experts on railway system interfaces and interoperability
- Create process diagrams, documentation, and other project deliverables.
- Ensure railway-compliant solutions through validation, testing and requirements traceability
- Support onboarding activities and deliver training sessions for users and stakeholders.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Requirements Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and process modelling skills with attention to detail.
- Fluent working knowledge of English; additional EU languages are an advantage.
- Ability to document business processes and functional requirements clearly.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in software delivery projects.
- Familiarity with DCM systems and sector requirements (e.g. Telematics TSI) is an advantage.

Salary
The annual gross minimum wage for this is € 50.000, - (full time – 40h/week), willingness to offer above-market salary depending on experience and qualifications.
