The Opportunity

As a Product Safety and Compliance Specialist at woom, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our products for our young customers. Your Mission

  • Conduct thorough research and effectively communicate safety and compliance requirements related to our bicycle products, product categories, and expanding sales regions to ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence.
  • Play an active role in product development projects, ensuring that safety and regulatory requirements are identified, communicated, and met throughout the entire process, resulting in globally compliant bicycle products.
  • Initiate Product Compliance Risk Assessments to identify and quantify potential safety and compliance risks, and develop robust mitigation plans to proactively address them.
  • Ensure full compliance with all aspects of product safety and compliance requirements, including labeling, packaging artwork, instruction booklets, and other relevant factors.
  • Maintain comprehensive records to support safety and compliance efforts, including documentation of testing, certifications, and other relevant information, creating an audit-ready compliance record.
  • Assist in cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance product safety and compliance while maintaining efficiency.
  • Plan and execute market-specific product testing, ensuring that testing is conducted as required and that all necessary compliance documentation is accurately maintained.
  • Stay abreast of changes in regulations and standards, actively monitoring updates and recommending actions to ensure ongoing compliance of active products.
  • Provide support in the investigation and problem-solving processes for safety or compliance issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and processes that promote safety and compliance, actively participating in their creation and ensuring their effective implementation.
  • Provide clear direction and establish timelines to transition product assurance from a reactive position to a proactive one, taking a preventative approach to safety and compliance issues.
  • Establish robust documentation of processes, procedures, and test reports, implementing systems to effectively maintain and manage such documentation, creating a defensive record of compliance activities.

Your Skills

  • University degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in Product Compliance
  • Solid knowledge of applicable EU norms, Canada and US is a plus
  • A team player with a strong analytical mind
  • Very good German and English skills (both written and spoken), as our daily work is bilingual
  • Valid work permit for Austria

For this position, we offer you a gross monthly salary starting at EUR 4.000 on a full-time basis. Of course, we take into account your individual qualifications and experience and are willing to pay an appropriate overpayment. We will be happy to discuss details in person.
