Lead finance. Shape growth. Help healthcare reach further.
In this role, better financial decisions help a business deliver better healthcare. You will work directly with AMEX Healthcare’s CEO and leadership team, bringing the judgement, discipline and ambition needed to shape the organisation’s next stage of growth.
A business with purpose. An opportunity with substance.
AMEX Healthcare is an international healthcare supplier and a long-standing partner to the United Nations and international aid organisations. From our base in Vienna and locations in Europe, Africa and Latin America, we deliver complex procurement and healthcare infrastructure projects in more than 120 countries.
Our work brings together medicines, medical and laboratory equipment, consumables, logistics, installation and technical support. It is a commercial business with a clear purpose: improving access to healthcare where it is needed. Financial strength helps us deliver reliably, invest in capability and take on the next challenge.
Work with entrepreneurs. Help build what comes next.
Join a business recognised with Austria’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 award and work alongside its entrepreneurial leadership. You will be close to the decisions that shape AMEX: where to invest, which opportunities to pursue and how to grow responsibly.
This is not a role on the sidelines. You will have a voice in strategy, direct access to the CEO and the scope to turn good ideas into practical improvements. The opportunity is to strengthen an international business while eveloping into an even more capable leader yourself.
Bring the ability to lead today—and the ambition to become an even stronger leader tomorrow.
You may already be a Head of Finance or be ready for your first role at this level. What matters is the quality of your work, the impact you have made and your capacity to take on broader responsibility.
Build the financial foundations for growth
You will hold overall responsibility for accounting, controlling and treasury, lead the finance team and act as a strategic partner to the CEOs. The role combines strong financial control with actitive commercial involvement across the business.
Shape the next stage of growth
Develop the financial strategy with the CEO. Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting, and turn financial insight into clear recommendations on performance, investment and growth opportunities. Help the leadership team make well-informed choices about where to commit resources.
Make international projects commercially strong
Bring clarity to project costing, margins and profitability. Work closely with sales, procurement and operations to assess opportunities, improve commercial decisions and identify issues early. Help teams understand the inancial consequences of their choices—not just the numbers in a report.
Keep growth funded
Manage liquidity, cash flow and working capital across countries. Improve receivables management, payment terms and financing structures so that the business can deliver its commitments and pursue growth with financial discipline.
Own the financial fundamentals
Ensure reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements under applicable local and international standards. Maintain compliance and effective financial controls, working with auditors and external partners. Build reporting that gives internal and external stakeholders a clear, timely view of the business.
Build a finance team that improves the business
Lead and develop the team, set clear priorities and build a culture of ownership and collaboration. Improve finance processes, reporting structures and digital tools so the function can support a more complex nternational business without unnecessary bureaucracy .
What success looks like
Success means clearer decisions, stronger visibility over cash and project margins, and a finance team that helps colleagues act with confidence. It also means the organisation is better equipped to pursue its next stage of growth.
Ability. Ownership. Room to grow.
We are looking for strong finance capability, exceptitional motitivatition and the judgement to turn ambitition into results. A prescribed number of years, a partiticular university or a perfect sequence of titles matter less than evidence of what you can do.
A credible finance foundatition. Hands-on experience and a firm grasp of accounting, financial reporting, planning and cash flow. Enough depth to own the functitions, recognise what needs checking and work effectively with specialists.
Sharp thinking and fast learning. You get to the heart of complex problems, ask good questitions and turn analysis into practitical decisions. You are curious about the business, not only the finance functition.
Evidence of delivery. You can point to improvements you personally drove: a better commercial outcome, a stronger process, cash released or a team made more effectitive. You follow through and take responsibility for results.
Leadership with ownership and respect. You can lead people or significant cross-functional work. You challenge constructively, welcome different perspectives and build trust. Your ambition includes making the organisation and the people around you stronger.
What makes you right for this
You do not need to have held this title before. You do need to have made a difference.
Bring hands-on finance experience, sound judgement across financial reporting and cash flow, and evidence that you can lead people or significant workstreams. Beyond that, we care most about how quickly you learn, how clearly you think and how consistently you turn ideas into results. You take ownership, challenge constructively and make the people around you better.
We value the impact you have made and the responsibility you are ready to take—not simply the number of years on your CV.
