UpNano is a fast-growing, innovation-driven high-tech company based in Vienna. As a technology leader in high-resolution 3D printing based on two-photon polymerization (2PP), we develop printing systems, software, and advanced materials for applications ranging from bioprinting and microfluidics to micro-optics and industrial manufacturing. To support our laboratory and material production activities, we are looking for a reliable and hands-on Lab Technician.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our laboratory. You will also support the preparation and handling of our standard 2PP resin products.
Laboratory Operations and Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment
- Support the collection, labeling, storage, and disposal of chemical waste in accordance with internal procedures and applicable safety requirements
- Clean and prepare accessories used with our 2PP printing systems, including vats, substrates, and other laboratory components
- Recycle, clean, and functionalize substrates according to established procedures
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of chemicals, consumables, and laboratory supplies
- Monitor and document ambient laboratory conditions, such as temperature and humidity
- Maintain laboratory equipment and air filters and ensure that they remain operational
- Perform routine care and basic maintenance of laboratory equipment, including rotary evaporators, vacuum pumps, scales and metrology equipment
Support the continuous improvement of laboratory organization, safety, and operational workflows
Material Preparation and Production Support
- Support the preparation of standard resin formulations according to defined recipes and production procedures
- Fill resin cartridges according to defined production procedures
- Maintain complete and traceable production and batch documentation
- Monitor the availability of raw materials and packaging components
You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from material development, application, R&D, quality, and operations.
Your Profile
Education
- Completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician, or a completed apprenticeship or technical training specializing in chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable field, or
- HTL education in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials engineering, materials science, or a comparable technical field, or
- Bachelor’s degree (FH or University) in chemistry, materials science, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related scientific or technical discipline
Skills and Working Style
- Strong interest in practical laboratory work, materials, and technical equipment
- Careful and responsible approach to handling chemicals and laboratory equipment High level of accuracy, reliability, and quality awareness
- Structured and independent working style
- Willingness to perform a broad range of practical and operational tasks
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Good command of English (company language); German skills are an advantage
- Standard computer skills and willingness to work with digital documentation and inventory systems

Salary
The actual minimum salary is 2,727.40 € gross per month (on a 38.5-hour basis), the actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience. The salary is paid 14 times per year.
