checkyeti is seeking a Backend Developer who thrives on variety and impact — someone who ships fast and still holds a high bar on architecture, testing, and code they can defend in review. In this position, you’ll take direct responsibility for the services that power our platform and build them with AI agents as a core part of the workflow.

Within the Product team, we build event-driven microservices running on AWS, primarily powered by Java, Spring Boot, and Project Reactor. We manage data using MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and Redis, and maintain fast continuous delivery (releasing multiple times weekly) using automated CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Jenkins within an agile framework. Our platform’s AI features run on GCP with Gemini, and we use Claude Code day to day to move faster.
What You Will Do in This Role
You will become a key player in our engineering team. Your mission is to build, scale, and optimize the core backend systems that power our platform:
Build AI-First: Use Claude Code as your default workflow — from scoping and prototyping to refactoring and test coverage. You’ll help shape how our team works with coding agents: what we automate, where we keep humans in the loop, and how we hold quality steady as output volume goes up.
Build High-Impact Features: Design, build, and deploy scalable backend services that deliver tangible business value and enhance the platform experience for our customers.
Ensure Quality & Reliability: Write clean, maintainable code backed by robust unit and integration tests to guarantee high performance, security, and continuous deployment stability.
Architect for Scale: Partner closely with our CTO and technical architects to optimize platform performance, high availability, and backend system architecture.
Tackle Operational Challenges: Proactively identify and resolve technical edge cases and operational challenges alongside the engineering team.
Innovate & Modernize: Stay ahead of software engineering trends, evaluating and introducing modern technologies and practices that elevate our tech stack and team workflow.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work hand-in-hand with frontend developers, product managers, and operational teams to transform product requirements into seamless technical solutions.
Who We Are Looking For
You are a quality-driven software engineer who combines strong core Java expertise with fluency in AI coding agents, plus a passion for scalable system architecture, proactive problem-solving, and continuous value delivery.
AI-Native Engineering: You already work with coding agents daily and have opinions about it — where they save you hours, where they quietly produce garbage, and how you review generated code before it reaches a PR. You’re comfortable being accountable for code you didn’t type line by line.
Core Engineering Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on Java. Experience with Spring Boot and reactive programming is a strong plus.
Database & Data Architecture: You have 2+ years of experience working with relational databases like MySQL (exposure to Redis, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch is a great plus).
Ownership: You thrive when taking full responsibility for your work — from initial architectural discussions to writing clean code, deploying, and maintaining feature health.
Pragmatic Team Player: You communicate openly, actively seek and give constructive feedback. You bring flexibility, strong commitment, and stay focused on shipping reliable, well-tested code in an agile environment.
Linguistic Skills: Professional fluency in English is essential as it is our company’s daily working language.

Salary
A gross annual salary from €56,000, with willingness to overpay depending on experience and qualifications.
