The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Digital Marketing & Communications Manager to join our growing Communications Department at our Headoffice in Vienna. This role is suited to a dynamic professional who combines creativity with a strong analytical mindset and enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment.
The successful candidate will contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of digital marketing and communication activities across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for strengthening EAN’s digital presence, supporting the delivery of impactful campaigns, and ensuring that our communications are both engaging and data-driven.
This is a hands-on role with a strong strategic component, requiring close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and project partners.
Key Responsibilities
Initial Responsibilities
As EAN is currently working on a creation of a new website, the first months will be mainly focusing on:
Review and analyse our existing website, including structure, content, user experience, and technical aspects.
Identify opportunities for improvement and prioritise recommendations.
Assess the needs of different stakeholder groups and target audiences.
Review competitor websites and industry best practices.
Develop a concept for the new website, including: information architecture and navigation; page structure and user journeys; content recommendations; functional requirements; design direction;
Prepare documentation and present recommendations to the project team.
Digital Marketing & Campaign Execution:
Plan, coordinate, and execute digital marketing campaigns across our online channels, including the main website, eanNews, email, and social media.
Support the promotion of key EAN initiatives, including congresses, educational programmes, research projects, and advocacy activities.
Develop and manage campaign timelines, ensuring alignment across channels and stakeholders.
Contribute to the development of campaign messaging, visuals, and content assets.
Maintain consistency of brand identity, messaging, and tone of voice.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Monitor and analyse performance metrics across digital channels, including website traffic, social media engagement, and email campaigns.
Use analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Matomo, Buffer, Hootsuite) to generate actionable insights.
Prepare regular performance reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for optimisation to support continuous improvement.
Social Media & Multimedia Management:
Manage and further develop EAN’s social media presence across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and BlueSky.
Plan, create, and schedule engaging, audience-specific content.
Edit video and multimedia content tailored for our online and social channels.
Monitor performance and engagement, adjusting strategies accordingly.
Stay up to date with digital trends and best practices to enhance reach and visibility.
Content Creation & Collaboration:
Create, edit, and optimise digital content across channels, including social media posts, newsletters, and website copy.
Translate complex scientific or technical information into clear, engaging, and accessible messaging for diverse audiences.
Adapt content to suit different target groups, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and the general public.
Collaborate closely with internal teams across the organisation to support communication needs and ensure alignment.
Support the continuous improvement of internal workflows, tools, and processes related to digital marketing and communications.
Key Skills & Competencies
Essential Skills:
Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and multi-channel campaign execution.
Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
Outstanding written and verbal communication in English.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills:
Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite).
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms (eg Salesforce).
Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Matomo, Google Analytics).
Good understanding of SEO and digital optimisation techniques.
Proficiency in video editing software and basic graphic design tools.
Desirable Skills:
Experience working in a scientific, healthcare, medical communications, or nonprofit environment.
Interest in neurology, brain health, or medical advocacy.
Experience working within international organisations or membership-based structures.
Profile and Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in digital marketing or communications.
Proven track record of executing successful campaigns and managing digital channels.
Experience in data analysis, reporting, and performance optimisation.
Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
Proactive mindset with the ability to identify challenges early and develop innovative, solution-focused responses.

Salary
This position comes with a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,000 for a 40-hour work week, negotiable depending on your experience and qualifications.
