IT:U is a new technical university in Austria (Linz) dedicated to digital transformation, driven by interdisciplinary research and project-based learning to actively shape this transformation and advance it with a solution-oriented approach.

Join us as a Senior Software Developer (f/m/d)*

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and iterate on digital products and prototypes in areas such as learning technology, digital experiences and internal innovation initiatives

  • Architect and implement scalable software systems across frontend and backend components

  • Collaborate closely with product, design and data teams to translate ideas into effective solutions and prototypes

  • Develop and integrate AI/ML-powered features, such as personalization, recommendation systems and intelligent assistants

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and accelerate delivery

  • Work alongside the data team to integrate data services and pipelines where required

  • Continuously experiment with new technologies and approaches, especially in AI, to drive innovation

  • Ensure scalability, performance and security of the applications

Your strengths and skills:

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Cross-Platform and Application Development with React and Python (Mobile Development, Dart and Flutter skills are an asset)

  • Proven track record of shipping production-ready full‑stack applications or prototypes

  • Solid understanding of software architecture and system design principles

  • Experience integrating or working with AI/ML models, APIs or frameworks

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and workflows

  • Knowledge und experience in DevOps and Platform Engineering

  • A plus: Prompt/Context Engineering for LLMs; hands-on delivery of AI features/products; familiarity with rapid prototyping (MVPs, design sprints, experimentation)

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

  • English skills on minimum level C1

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; curious and collaborative; eager to learn and grow with the team
