What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

As a Sales Manager at Global Blue by Shift4, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new retail business opportunities across Austria. You will directly contribute to the growth of Global Blue by Shift4’s presence in the European retail payments ecosystem by expanding client partnerships, driving sales performance, and positioning Global Blue by Shift4 as a trusted advisor delivering tailored, innovative payment solutions.

You will oversee the full sales cycle (from lead generation to onboarding) and gradually build and manage a sales team aligned with business needs. This position plays a crucial role in transforming the European retail payments landscape and strengthening long-term commercial relationships in the retail sector.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Identify, pursue, and close new retail business opportunities across the country.

  • Take full ownership of the sales cycle: lead generation, pitching, contract negotiation, onboarding, and client delivery.

  • Build and manage a team of field sales agents as the business grows.

  • Consistently achieve and exceed personal and team sales targets.

  • Deliver compelling presentations and tailored proposals to retail clients of all sizes, from SMBs to complex, multi-location enterprises.

  • Maintain deep market knowledge of retail trends and payment innovations to strengthen Global Blue by Shift4’s positioning.

  • Collaborate with global and regional teams (marketing, product, operations, finance) to ensure seamless processes and excellent service delivery.

  • Accurately manage CRM pipeline reporting and adhere to internal sales processes.

  • Represent Global Blue by Shift4 at industry events, trade shows, and on client site visits across your country/region of responsibility.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospective retail clients, helping them identify optimal payment solutions and supporting long-term business growth.

  • Market Analysis & Strategy – 10%

  • Administration & Reporting – 10%

  • Industry Events & Representation – 5%


Main KPI’s:

  • Achievement of personal and team sales targets (revenue growth).

  • New client acquisition and successful contract closures.

  • Pipeline accuracy and CRM reporting compliance.

  • Client satisfaction and retention post-onboarding.

  • Expansion of Global Blue by Shift4 market share in the designated retail sector.

  • Proven track record of success in driving sales performance, managing complex deals, and nurturing client relationships across diverse merchant sizes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.

  • Extensive experience in leading sales in international, competitive environments; proven ability to deliver revenue growth, build teams, and position solutions strategically.

  • Proven sales and negotiation skills with large and complex merchants.

  • Strong presentation, influencing, and relationship management abilities.

  • Deep understanding of European omni-channel retail and payments ecosystems (card present & ecommerce).

  • CRM proficiency and strong organizational skills.

  • Languages: Fluent English. Native or proficient knowledge of German. Knowledge of additional European languages beyond the local language is considered a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Country.

Salary

As required by Austrian federal law we are obliged to disclose the minimum annual gross compensation according to the respective Austrian collective bargaining agreement for this position, which amounts to € 50.214,22 gross annual. Global Blue guarantees an attractive, competitive and performance-related compensation package based on your professional and personal qualifications as well as on market-oriented salaries and, therefore, our compensation package is significantly above the stated minimum!
