RailNetEurope (RNE) is an association of European Infrastructure Managers (IMs) and Allocation Bodies (ABs) with the common goal of facilitating international traffic on the European rail infrastructure and increasing the efficiency of the IMs’/ABs’ processes. We are looking for detail-oriented and analytical Software Testers to join our growing development team at RNE. As a software tester, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of one of our key applications. Beyond regular quality assurance, you will also be able to suggest improvements and interact with a diverse range of users from the European railway community.
Your duties / responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute test cases and test plans for a software tool used by planners
Perform functional, regression, and usability testing
Work in a development team consisting of railway experts, developers, product managers, and potentially other interfacing departments
Contribute to the development by understanding user needs and suggesting improvements
Contribute to the creation of documentation and user manuals
Support the project manager with planning activities and running user group meetings
Take part in external communication (e.g., in case of a system failure)
Your qualifications & skills
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a software tester or business analyst
Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and testing methodologies
Qualification in software testing is a plus, although it can be replaced by strong experience
Ability to learn and interact in a dynamic international environment
A pro-active, can-do attitude
Experience working in an agile environment and with tools like Jira or Confluence is a plus
Fluency in English; knowledge of additional European languages is a bonus

Salary
The annual gross minimum wage for this position according to the Austrian Act on Equal treatment is € 42.000, - (full time – 40h/week), with willingness to negotiate overpayments in line with the market, depending on experience and qualifications.
