Job Purpose

As a leading communications provider in the CEE region, A1 Group offers products and services in voice telephony, broadband internet, mobile and home entertainment, smart home, data and IT solutions, wholesale, payment solutions, and digital services. To support our Group organization, we are seeking an experienced legal expert to join our small Group Legal team.

What you do

• You provide advice on corporate and general civil law matters.
• You collaborate with legal experts across A1 Group subsidiaries, ensuring corporate housekeeping and advising on Group Corporate Governance issues.
• You support corporate and general civil law matters across the Group, including the organization and preparation of general meetings of Austrian listed joint-stock companies, as well as various reorganization and internal restructuring projects.
• You support Austrian M&A projects.
• You work closely and independently with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Tax, Investor Relations, M&A, Executive Board units), the boards and management of A1 Group companies and their legal departments, as well as external lawyers.
• You support digital transformation in legal operations by identifying, implementing, and applying AI tools and technologies to streamline workflows, enhance contract analysis, support compliance, and improve decision-making.

What you offer

• Profound knowledge in legal matters specific to corporate law and corporate governance - work experience in addition of advantage.
• Legal experience in a law firm or as an inhouse lawyer, preferably in a regulated sector such as telecommunications.
• Good drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Analytical and business judgment - able to translate legal complexity into practical advice.
• Enjoy working on complex situations and finding creative solutions.
• Positive and solution-oriented attitude.
• Strong capability to think strategically.
• Pragmatic and results-oriented working style.
• Fluency in German and English (a Slavic language is considered an asset).
• Professional handling of confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to independently develop solution approaches and collaborate directly with relevant departments.
• Demonstrated interest and/or experience in legal technology, with the ability to evaluate, adopt, and apply AI-driven tools to legal processes.
