Upgrades for International Special-Purpose Machines

Welcome at Rosendahl Nextrom, where we manufacture production technologies for the battery, cable & wire, and optical fiber industries.

#More than 500 people work at our headquarters in Pischelsdorf today to ensure that the world will be supplied further with energy, communication and mobility tomorrow. And that in a sustainable way. We want a fit – for you and for us. That is why we offer you a reasonable, diverse, and - most importantly - friendly working environment, internationality, and lots of room to develop. We are also part of the Knill Group, a private family business with over 300 years of tradition based in Weiz.

About the role

You are passionate about automation technology and want to further develop technically sophisticated special-purpose machines instead of constantly travelling worldwide or working on construction sites?

Then you are exactly right with us.

In our “Cable & Wire” business unit, you will support international production systems during ongoing operation and further develop existing machines through upgrades and modern automation solutions.

You will work closely with our engineering teams and stay technically close to our machines – with a clear focus on remote upgrades and only a few business trips per year.

Your Tasks in Detail

  • Programming of PLC software and drive technology (Siemens TIA Portal / Simatic Manager)

  • Technical support for the sales team during the quotation phase

  • Technical preparation and implementation of upgrades

  • Implementation of software modifications and optimizations

  • Further development of existing machines and automation solutions

  • Technical support for our globally installed systems

  • Collaboration with internal specialist departments

  • Paid on-call duty (EUR 700 gross for one week per month)

About you

  • Completed technical education (HTL, apprenticeship or equivalent) in electrical engineering, automation technology or mechatronics

  • Several years of professional experience and very good PLC programming skills

  • Good knowledge of Profinet; knowledge of Profibus is an advantage

  • Interest in new technologies and technical challenges

  • Independent, precise and responsible way of working

  • Strong customer orientation and solution-oriented mindset

  • Good English skills

About us

What makes the job special

  • Less travel, more focus: clear remote-first approach with only a few business trips per year. Stay technically involved without constantly being on the road.

  • Technically sophisticated special-purpose machines instead of serial production

  • Combination of engineering, programming and customer interaction

  • High level of personal responsibility and creative freedom

  • International projects and modern automation technology

What sets us apart

  • A genuinely positive working atmosphere – ranked as our number one benefit in our employee survey.

  • A healthy work–life balance. Depending on the position, we offer flexible working hours, remote work options, and/or part-time models.

  • Meal subsidies, an on-site company day-care provider, and more – a wide range of benefits designed to make everyday life easier.

  • A global technology leader – experience first-hand how future-oriented technologies and machinery are developed.

  • Over 500 colleagues at our main site and another 300 worldwide: large enough for exciting projects, yet small enough for fast decisions and a personal working environment.

  • Your workplace? Pischelsdorf – surrounded by nature, easily accessible without traffic jams, and with ample on-site parking.

  • All of this within the Knill Group – a long-established, internationally successful family-owned company since 1712, still privately held today.
