Our client is a highly entrepreneurial organization in the financial services industry. Pursuing a steep growth path, the Austrian subsidiary has grown significantly over the last years, driven by a combination of strong organic growth and a well-executed M&A strategy, and plans to accelerate their activities with the objective of becoming the number one in their market niche. In line with this strategy, the key position CFO (gn) is being filled. The successful candidate will support the CEO, to develop and deliver the business plan, whilst simultaneously leading the finance function, M&A execution and being a Board Director for the company.

Your responsibilities

  • Board Director with responsibility for the finance function at board level and close cooperation with the CEO to guide on the commercial aspects
  • Leadership and management of a small finance team, responsible for the financial management of the business (financial control and FP&A), M&A execution, legal and company secretarial activities
  • Financial and non-financial risk management, including responsibility for regulatory compliance
  • Accurate reporting, including annual audit and tax compliance as well as development, monitoring, reporting and interpretation of business KPI's and associated systems
  • Assist with the identification, assessment, deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence and integration of acquisitions
  • Play a leadership role in strategic and tactical planning and decision-making

Your profile

  • University degree in Finance or related field; qualified accountant with sound technical accounting skills
  • Significant professional financial management experience (15+ years), including comprehensive experience in finance leadership roles
  • Experience of working in general insurance or other financial services
  • Acquisition identification, negotiation, due diligence and integration experience
  • Flexible and prepared for the demands of a fast-growing entrepreneurial business with a small finance team
  • Energetic, credible, motivated, pragmatic and hands-on with a 'can-do' attitude
  • Fluent German and English speaker
