XR Software Engineer - Rendering in Salzburg or Vienna (m/f/d; full-time)

Job Description

Qualcomm's XR team is seeking a XR Software Engineer to join a talented and innovative team developing the next generation of Augmented and Virtual reality (XR) technologies.

  • The XR Software Engineer will drive the architecture, development and deployment of core parts of our XR toolkit.

  • We are looking for someone with a high affinity for real-time rendering pipelines and optimizing code to fit 16ms (or less). You have created parts of a rendering engine on your own, because you thought that the existing solutions are not efficient enough.

  • This is a great opportunity for someone who has a solid technical background, a passion for the XR industry and enjoys working with powerful engineering teams.

Responsibilities we'll trust you with

  • Design, architecture, test and implement for core parts for the Wikitude XR toolkit - particularly in the area of rendering pipelines for XR systems.

  • Profile and optimize your code for runtime performance

  • Work closely with product managers, partner managers and experts on the customer and partner side to understand their requirements and with that directly influence the roadmap of Wikitude's core products.

Skills/Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Several years' experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc., where experience in applying C++ is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for software development, writing optimized code and using cutting edge technologies.

  • Worked previously on VR or AR projects or have a solid background in game development

  • Familiar with rendering techniques that are used in augmented and virtual reality

  • Background in computer graphics and associated math

  • Experience in 3D render engines and/or working with OpenGL, DirectX and 3D programming

  • Previous experience with development for mobile platforms (Android, iOS) or head-worn devices (HoloLens, Magic Leap) are a plus

The salary for this position is starting from EUR 3400 gross per month. The actual salary depends on qualifications and experience and can therefore be significantly higher than the stated salary.
