(Senior) M&A Project Manager

Purpose & key responsibilities of the role:

You are an experienced M&A manager, ideally at the (senior) project manager level in the chemicals or process industry and enjoy working on M&A topics. Several years of experience in investment banking or consulting roles brought your practice of the overall M&A process from scouting to closing projects to perfection. Your people- and results driven approach, combined with the talent to manage cross-cultural teams around the globe is your recipe for success. With the instinct for the right deals at the right time, you are keen to shape the future of the world-market leader in cellulose fibers.   • Drive M&A projects from start to finish incl. due diligence, valuation, assessment of financing options and tax implications, negotiation closing and integration
  • Lead and participate in referring project teams and collaborate with internal / external departments, incl. lawyers, auditors, banks and consultants
  • Scout, review and refine current and future M&A pipeline as well as propose own M&A ideas and projects in line with corporate strategy
  • Co-create the M&A strategy and process, support board and the business in professional M&A process and coordination
  • Prepare decision-making documentation and analysis, presentations for (supervisory) board meetings
  • Prepare and ensure realization of adequate strategy for successful integration after acquisition

Our expectations for this exciting role:

  • Technical degree in Science / Engineering with a strong commercial sense or alternatively Economics / Finance Degree and / or international MBA
  • Accounting and corporate finance know-how incl. due diligences, financing structures and tax implications
  • Strong financial modeling skills and Joint Venture experience in Asia and Europe
  • Fluent English and German a must, Asian language skills nice to have
  • International experience required, investment banking / consulting is a preferred add on
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, ownership and independent working style

The annual gross salary for this position is according to collective agreement in the chemical industry based on 38 working hours/week at least EUR 70,000 with a willingness to overpay - depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally you will also take part in the Lenzing bonus system.
