(Associate) Principal Research Coordinator (m/f/d) - Part-time (25h/week)

As of now, we are looking for a Principal Research Coordinator to join the department of Research Coordination within Oncology Research Vienna. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and well-organized personality with a pursuit of accuracy and completeness. A successful applicant will be viewed as an expert in scientific writing, who will liaise with internal customers in research as well as local and global business partners in enabling functions and drive operational excellence in research.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Draft and update animal test applications ("Tierversuchsanträge") in collaboration with in vivo pharmacologists and contribute to BI RCV ethics committee meetings
  • Draft and submit grant applications to external public funding organizations for scientific projects in Oncology
  • Consolidate and archive submission relevant research project reports in electronic form
  • Support onboarding of new research employees in form of training sessions and introductory presentations
  • Execute and optimize operational research coordination processes such as budgeting, contracting, and ordering
  • Optional: Manage a small team of operational research coordinators


  • MSc, PhD or similar university degree in Life Sciences demonstrating scientific work experience
  • Knowledge of drug discovery processes
  • Experience in and passion for scientific writing
  • Ability to effectively network internally and externally
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in German and English

We offer an attractive salary package in line with your qualification, experience and individual competencies. The base pay is composed of a market oriented excess payment and the respective amount according to the Austrian collective agreement (at least EUR 60,000 gross per year/full-time).
