Junior System/Network Administrator

This is an exciting opportunity for an eager person with a strong and proven technical ability to further develop. You will be part of a skilled team of experienced and international professionals in which you can improve your skills on a daily base.
The main scope of the role is to be responsible for maintaining and eventually developing a healthy network infrastructure of networks, servers and services whilst helping with rollouts for business-critical network infrastructure, products and services.

Key requirements:

  • Responsible for maintenance and availability of datacentres, network infrastructure, servers and services
  • Ensure the integrity and security of data in accordance with best practices and business requirements for regulatory, security and privacy compliance
  • Ensure new software is successfully deployed across the business
  • Produce and maintain documentation for IT procedures
  • Solid experience in Microsoft environments and Linux systems
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to quickly understand needs and requests
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
  • Prioritize and managing open tasks
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Provide, as part of a rota, on-call production support for IT Operations
  • This is a varying shift position. You will be expected to work shifts occurring at varying times of the day, varying days of the week, also remotely. The weekly working time will be 40 hours.

As this is a junior position the candidate would need to have either experience within the IT field or a degree/A-Level qualification in an IT related subject.

Desirable experience:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in IT Support
  • Firewalls configuration (Juniper, Cisco)
  • Understanding of load balancers architecture and configuration F5
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019
  • Knowledge of Linux systems, Redhat/CentOS, Oracle and Debian
  • VMWare virtualisation 6.x or later
  • Network infrastructure design and delivery
  • Storage area networks (Brocade)
  • Server hardware (Dell, IBM/Lenovo)
