As Production Manager, you'll oversee production schedules, workflows and the successful delivery of premium content, within the operational, legal, HR and financial constraints whilst driving innovation and continuous improvement throughout the production lifecycle. In addition, you'll work closely with Sales and Business Affairs, create production plans, solve issues as they arise, undertake budget negotiations and make recommendations, to ensure terms and budgets are locked.


In this role, you'll conduct feasibility on treatments and scrub budgets with schedules, working with internal and external producers to drive efficiencies, and providing feedback to senior management on viability and risks. You'll own a year-round production calendar - this includes collaborating with internal teams to run the day to day schedules as well as ensuring information on production and timelines is regularly updated and communicated.


You'll constantly evaluate and improve internal processes, quality of operational precision by proactively assessing our current ways of working across the business to maximize our output and streamline workflows. In addition, you'll manage production department scheduling, workflows, guidelines, and processes, making the best use of the software and tools available. You'll build strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders, and find efficiencies between Feature Films, Original Series and Unscripted production.


As Production Manager, you'll track and manage development and production costs, producing a monthly status report. You'll work with our Finance team, ensure accurate forecasting for your slate of development projects and green lit productions, collating all information from external and internal stakeholders to inform senior management. Furthermore, you'll be responsible for project cashflow planning throughout the year.


Another part of the role is to keep abreast of industry developments, changes in technology, tools, and partnerships, that could benefit us from a creative or financial point of view. You'll support the development team in driving innovation and continuous improvement throughout the production and support the sourcing and development of a strong network of experienced production partners, vendors, and talent.


Your areas of knowledge and expertise

That matter most for this role:

  • 5+ years of experience working within the media production industry at production executive level
  • Experience in working both in the field, and within network/broadcasters or production companies, working across premium international series, formats, and feature documentaries
  • Strong understanding of production, editorial and technical processes involved in the making of a range of programs across various genres
  • Confident reviewing treatments, conducting feasibility and due diligence work
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills and extensive experience in development and production budget creation, negotiation, tracking, and management alongside a strong understanding of editorial ambition
  • Proven ability to proactively find solutions to financial challenges, being a strong problem solver and tactful negotiator, with a good understanding of rights
  • International production experience is a must, with a proven track record of managing a full slate of programs across different territories
  • Good organisational skills, adaptable and proactive
  • University Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Travel up to 10%

However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
