Job Description

  • Identify design patterns that need to be developed and maintain a prioritized Jira backlog of them.
  • Solicit ideas from others to address design pattern needs and synthesize ideas into an optimal single solution.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for adherence to design patterns and provide guidance when necessary.
  • Work with the design systems technical lead to create web components for use in the product.
  • Document rationale for design patterns and the circumstances in which they should be used.
  • Create Figma prototypes of design patterns that can be used by UX Designers, Product Managers and Developers.
  • Own the process by which design patterns get created, documented and communicated.
  • Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert for Product Managers that want to migrate from their existing UI to the design system UI


  • You have experience in creating design standards, but also understand that projects may also have unique needs. You enjoy finding the right balance.
  • You have experience in the tech industry, or in a similarly complicated domain.
  • We'd love to see around five years of experience in design
  • You have a definite point of view and aren't shy about sharing it, but will change course when faced with objective data
  • You're friendly, approachable and able to synthesize multiple viewpoints to make a single optimal design. People want to work with you because they can freely contribute ideas and because you are fun to work with.
  • Your passion for clean, elegant and simple design is second only to your enthusiasm for involving people with different perspectives in the design process.
  • You view constructive feedback as a gift from others and you actively seek it out so that you can change designs in order to provide maximum value to users.
  • You rely on both a well-honed professional intuition and as much data as you can find to make design decisions

Your first three months with us:

Month 1: You'll be in "listen and learn" mode. You'll meet with many people throughout the company to better understand company culture. You'll also use our products and get up to speed on the current design system.

Month 2: You'll create at least 7 design patterns to be used on products and get them reviewed and approved. You'll also create your Jira backlog and establish communication channels for design system activities.

Month 3: You'll continue creating design patterns (at least 10) and give your first cross-company presentation on the R&D design system.

We are under legal obligation in Austria to indicate the minimum salary, which is EUR 44,604 ,- gross per year for this position according to the IT collective agreement. However, our attractive compensation packages follow current market salaries and can therefore be significantly above the indicated minimum salary

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to bring unity and harmony to our products and services by leading the effort to create a design system. The design system will start with standardization of UI elements, but will expand to include common nomenclature and a common approach to developing in-product content.

The best experiences occur when there is cohesion across all parts of a company. This position will leverage the expertise of others throughout Tricentis to develop product design standards that align with the creative efforts of other groups.
